Materials you’ll need

– Various yarn colors (yellow, orange, and black)
– Wooden pearls
– Wooden hooks for hanging (optional)
– Scissors
– Glue (optional)

Step 1: crafting the magical tassels

Begin by creating the tassels that will serve as the hair for your Hocus Pocus dolls. Depending on which sister you’re making, choose the corresponding yarn color. For Sarah, use yellow yarn; for Winifred, use orange yarn; and for Mary, use black yarn.

1. Cut several strands of yarn to your desired length for each doll. This will be the hair, so consider the length you’d like for their flowing locks.
2. Gather the strands of yarn and tie a separate piece of yarn around the middle, leaving two equal-length sections hanging down. This will create the tassel effect.
3. If you want to add a touch of magic, you can glue or tie wooden pearls to the ends of the tassels to mimic the sisters’ jewelry.

Step 2: crafting the macrame bodies

Now, it’s time to give your dolls a macrame body.

1. Take a piece of yarn in a contrasting color to create the body. Wrap it around the waist of the tassel bundle and tie a knot. This will be the body of your doll.
2. Once the body is complete, tie off the yarn and trim any excess.

Step 3: creating the wooden pearl face

To give your dolls some personality, add to the wooden pearls their faces.
Just drawing the eyes or the entire face, that’s up to you!

Step 4: adding the finishing touches

Your Hocus Pocus dolls are almost ready, but you can enhance their charm even further.

1. Create small tassels in the same way you made the hair tassels, and tie them around the neck as if they were the sisters’ shawls.
2. If you’d like to display your dolls, attach wooden hooks to their heads. These can be used to hang them on the wall, creating a bewitching display in your home.
