Upcycling nesting dolls: in this post I am going to show you how I upcycled a thrifted set of upcycled dolls into a Nativity set.

I guess you all know now how much I love thrifting and vintage finds, we visit feels markets almost weekly and we now have some experience when it comes to buy second hand stuff.

But we’ll never stop learning and we obviously make mistakes from time to time and that’s what happened last month.

We went to a flea market and a lady was selling different sets of nesting dolls. I started to look at two of them and she kindly told me the price and that I could open and check the dolls if I wanted, but she mentioned that the steps were complete.

It was a bit crowded and a kid came and started to look to the second set, so I trust the lady, bought the set and once at home opened the dolls to clean them.

Surprise surprise the set wasn’t complete and the smallest doll was a mix of 2 different sets!
Beginner’s mistake!

But well, I thought that we could paint the dolls and made a Nativity set for Christmas, a fun activity with the girls.

We painted everything white first and then drew the characters with permanent markers.
Then paint again and varnish.
They really love to play with them now? #momwins
